Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming school environment near Naperville, IL. This full-time position, running from August 26, 2026, through June 3, 2027, is designed for passionate educators dedicated to guiding and empowering learners with unique needs. You’ll lead a small instructional classroom of five students in 3rd and 4th grades, cultivating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive educational experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Special Education licensure and certification required
- Proven experience in a school-based Special Education setting
- Ability to tailor instructional strategies to meet individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and student advocacy
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support in a classroom setting for 3rd and 4th grade students
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans, adapting as needed for diverse learners
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with federal, state, and district guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and parents to support each student’s success
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, professional development, and staff training
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom culture that encourages growth and achievement
