Key Qualifications:
- Valid and current Illinois teaching license with special education certification
- Previous school-based special education teaching experience required
- Strong instructional skills and experience adapting curriculum for students with diverse learning needs
- Skills in classroom management and individualized instruction
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students in a classroom setting, supporting their IEP goals
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized educational plans
- Use data-driven methods to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere conducive to student growth
- Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Maintain accurate records and support compliance with all special education requirements
- Engage regularly with families to ensure strong home-school connections
