Job Title: Plumbing Foreman Job Description
This role leads plumbing construction and installation projects from layout through final completion. The Plumbing Foreman plans and lays out work, orders materials, conducts safety talks, and manages field teams to ensure projects meet deadlines and comply with company procedures and strict quality standards. The position oversees installation of a wide range of plumbing systems, including no-hub, copper, cast iron, PVC, and PEX piping, as well as gas, sewer, drain, shower, and septic lines, with a strong focus on precise, high-quality finish work.
Responsibilities- Plan and lay out plumbing construction and installation work according to blueprints and project specifications.
- Order and coordinate delivery of materials, tools, and equipment required for each project.
- Lead and supervise plumbing crews in the field, assigning tasks and monitoring daily progress.
- Conduct regular safety talks and ensure full adherence to OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
- Install and oversee no-hub, copper, cast iron, PVC, and PEX piping systems for plumbing and gas applications.
- Perform and supervise brazing and soldering of copper pipe, including hot water lines and copper finish work.
- Install branch lines, shower lines, gas lines, sewer and drain lines, and septic lines with high precision.
- Coordinate and execute plumbing construction and installation for new builds, renovations, and finish plumbing work.
- Install and set plumbing fixtures such as sinks, showers, and other finish plumbing components to exact standards.
- Interpret and work from blueprints and plumbing designs, ensuring accurate layout and routing of all piping systems.
- Ensure plumbing work meets strict quality expectations so walls and finishes do not need to be reopened or reworked.
- Enforce company procedures on job sites, including attendance, productivity, and conduct standards.
- Maintain a production-oriented, high-paced workflow, encouraging team members to request additional tasks upon completion of assigned work.
- Promote a team-oriented environment by modeling professional behavior, openness to feedback, and collaboration.
- Monitor job deadlines and proactively address issues to keep projects on schedule.
- Verify that all work complies with relevant codes, site requirements, and permit conditions, including gas line work.
- Support training and development of crew members, sharing knowledge of plumbing/fire protection and finish plumbing techniques.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders regarding progress, issues, and material or labor needs.
- Protect tools, materials, and finished work on site, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Extensive hands-on plumbing experience across construction, rough-in, and finish plumbing.
- Proficiency with no-hub piping systems, including layout and installation.
- Strong experience with copper plumbing, including hot water lines, copper finish work, and pro press systems.
- Skilled in brazing and soldering copper pipe for various plumbing applications.
- Experience with cast iron plumbing for sewer and drain systems.
- Proficiency in PVC and PEX plumbing installation for water and drain lines.
- Hands-on experience installing drain lines, shower lines, sewer lines, gas lines, and septic lines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plumbing designs accurately.
- Demonstrated capability to lay out work in the field based on drawings and site conditions.
- Experience supervising crews and coordinating daily activities on construction sites.
- Knowledge of plumbing/fire protection systems and their integration into building projects.
- Strong finish plumbing skills, including installation of sinks, showers, and other fixtures to high-quality standards.
- Ability to work in a high-paced, production-oriented environment while maintaining excellent workmanship.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to guide teams and enforce procedures.
- Commitment to safety practices and compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements.
- OSHA 62 SST certification.
- F60 certification.
- G60 certification.
- Experience working on projects involving gas lines and related safety requirements.
- Comfort working across multiple boroughs (Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx) using car or public transportation.
- Ability to treat copper and pipe work with a high level of craftsmanship, aiming for precise, first-time-right installations.
- Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance record in prior roles.
- Ability to accept and apply feedback constructively in a team environment.
- Professional, team-oriented attitude with no confrontational behavior and no ego-driven decision-making.
- Desire for a long-term career in plumbing rather than a short-term job.
- Ownership of a complete Plumbing Journeyman set of hand tools, PPE, and measurement tools.

Work EnvironmentWork takes place on construction and installation sites across multiple boroughs, including Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx, and you need to be comfortable commuting by car or public transportation. The environment is production-oriented and high paced, with strict expectations for attendance, productivity, and professionalism. Team members are expected to stay actively engaged in their tasks, request additional work when assignments are completed, and avoid distractions such as standing around, using air pods, or personal phones during work time. The culture emphasizes teamwork, humility, and respect, with no tolerance for confrontational behavior or attitude issues, and a strong emphasis on taking feedback well. Work hours typically start early, around 5:00–6:00 a.m., with core hours from 7:00 a.m. to approximately 3:00–5:00 p.m., and overtime is available. You are expected to bring and use your own PPE, measurement tools, and a full Plumbing Journeyman set of hand tools. The standard of workmanship is very high, with an expectation that copper and pipe work is treated like artwork and completed perfectly the first time so finished walls do not need to be reopened.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
