Vocational Specialist

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Service Field, Business or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. 1–2 years of experience in job development, talent acquisition, training specialist or case management preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities Participate as a full member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and collaborate with the Team Leader/LPHA on clinical needs of assigned caseload. Provide PROS members with employment counseling, advocacy services, benefit counseling (Social Services, Social Security, Medicaid). Perform job development and career development activities based on the needs of PROS members. Complete quarterly state‑required reports. Develop/facilitate class curriculum for skill‑building classes. Provide CRS, IR, clinical symptom monitoring and ORS interventions as outlined in the PROS participant IRP; services are reviewed and co‑signed by MD/RN; may be provided individually or in groups. Facilitate assessments and individual recovery plan (IRP) development with PROS participants. Provide vocational and psychiatric rehabilitation assessments. Ensure documentation is completed within designated timeframes. Use recovery and person‑centered approaches, including person‑first language, and provide ongoing support for goal acquisition (e.g., employment). Participate fully in quality‑improvement activities within the PROS program and department. Collaborate and communicate with primary‑care providers and multidisciplinary team, documenting contacts in participant’s record. Participate in and incorporate professional supervision and education into practice; promote good communication and teamwork through daily staff meetings, case conferences and team meetings. Demonstrate safe driving practices per Rochester Regional Health driver policy. Job development activities include networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees, locating and documenting employers with established relationships, communicating regularly with team members and participants to share leads, opportunities and new relationships, and creating contacts within industry. Attend local professional meetings and membership development meetings; maintain regular contact with potential future employers; represent RRH and PROS positively; develop working relationships with external parties to aid in job development activities.
