Analyst III - Hybrid Telework

Job Description and Duties

Under general direction of the Supervisor ll, Office Manager, in Office of Protective Services (OPS), the Analyst lll is responsible for the effective coordination and oversight of complex projects, training and development of procedures, and key innovation projects within the Office of Protective Services. The incumbent will be responsible for high level complex special assignments. The incumbent will operate as a lead staff member and subject matter expert working independently on a large variety of high level complex analytical assignments within the Office of Protective Services. The incumbent will conduct higher level auditing of various programs, training, and procedures to ensure compliance with policies, laws, rules and regulations. The incumbent exercises a high degree of discretion, diplomacy, confidentiality, leadership, and initiative while taking independent actions to resolve issues as they arise.

Working Conditions

• DSH-Sacramento is located at an 11-floor high rise building.
• This position reports to the Allenby Building in Sacramento and may be eligible and considered for a telework opportunity in accordance with departmental policies, operational needs, and management approval. Employees are currently required to work in-person at least four (4) days per week in alignment with  Executive Order N-22-25 .Additional in-office days may be required based on operational needs. 
• The incumbent may also be required to travel upto 5% throughout California as needed, with prior notice.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) policies and procedures.
• When appropriate other Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies rules, regulations, and policies and/or procedures that would assist the OPS in its overall mission.
• Proficiency in Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Outlook.
• Proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure to ensure that written materials prepared and/or reviewed are complete, concise, and error free.

3. Describe your experience working in a fast-paced environment where you need to adapt quickly to changes in priority. Please provide specific examples and year(s) in the role.
4. Describe how you lead projects independently, including successfully meeting deliverables timely while managing competing priorities. Provide relevant examples and year(s) in the role.
