Superintendent - Commercial Construction

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent - Commercial Construction to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of commercial building projects. This role will lead day-to-day site operations, coordinate subcontractors and trades, and ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules and contractual requirements. The successful candidate will take ownership of site performance and provide strong leadership throughout each stage of construction.


Responsibilities include developing and maintaining short- and long-term construction schedules; coordinating site activities, deliveries and resources; reviewing drawings, specifications and work packages; monitoring progress, productivity and workmanship; and identifying and resolving issues before they affect programme, cost or quality. You will conduct site meetings, coordinate inspections, manage subcontractor performance, maintain accurate project records and support effective communication between project management, consultants, clients and site teams. The role also requires rigorous enforcement of health, safety and environmental procedures, including site inductions, risk assessments, toolbox talks and compliance inspections.


Applicants should have substantial experience supervising commercial construction projects, ideally across complex builds, fit-outs or large-scale developments. A strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, building regulations, quality assurance and construction documentation is essential. You will be organised, commercially aware and confident interpreting technical drawings and schedules, with the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure. Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills are required, along with a proactive approach to safety and collaboration. Relevant construction qualifications, site management certifications and a proven record of delivering projects on time and to a high standard are desirable.
