Construction Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of construction projects from mobilisation through to completion. You will be responsible for coordinating site activities, supervising subcontractors and trades, and ensuring work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, programmes and relevant legislation. The role will involve maintaining a visible presence on site, setting clear expectations for performance and workmanship, and fostering a collaborative, solutions-focused working environment.

Your duties will include planning daily and weekly activities, monitoring progress against the construction programme, coordinating deliveries and resources, and identifying and resolving issues before they affect cost, quality or completion dates. You will lead site meetings, maintain accurate records, review risk assessments and method statements, and work closely with project managers, engineers, consultants and clients. A strong focus on health and safety is essential, including ensuring site rules are followed, inspections are completed and corrective actions are promptly addressed. You will also oversee quality control, support snagging and close-out activities, and contribute to commissioning and handover documentation.

Applicants should have substantial experience supervising construction projects, ideally within a commercial, industrial, civil engineering or similarly complex environment. A recognised construction qualification or relevant trade background is desirable, together with a sound understanding of construction methods, building regulations, health and safety requirements and quality assurance processes. Strong leadership, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain progress in a demanding environment. A valid site safety qualification and relevant professional training will be advantageous. The successful candidate will be proactive, dependable and committed to achieving high standards while promoting a respectful and inclusive site culture.
