Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee the successful delivery of commercial construction projects across multiple locations. This is a site-based role for a confident construction professional who can lead teams, coordinate trades and maintain high standards of safety, quality and programme performance. Regular travel and extended periods away from home will be required, depending on project demands.


You will take overall responsibility for day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules and budgets. Duties will include coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, supervising site personnel, reviewing progress, managing inspections and maintaining accurate project records. You will chair or contribute to site meetings, identify potential delays or risks, support programme updates and work closely with project managers, clients, consultants and local authorities. The role will also involve monitoring workmanship, resolving on-site issues and ensuring all activities comply with health and safety legislation, environmental requirements and company procedures.


Applicants should have substantial experience supervising commercial construction projects from mobilisation through to completion, ideally across sectors such as retail, industrial, hospitality, healthcare or office developments. A recognised qualification in construction management, building or a related discipline is desirable, alongside strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, building regulations and site safety requirements. You will need proven leadership and communication skills, excellent organisational ability and the confidence to make sound decisions under pressure. The successful candidate will be commercially aware, proactive and comfortable working independently while managing several priorities. A full driving licence, willingness to travel nationally and flexibility to work varying hours are essential.
