Project Engineer IIThis Project Engineer II position is responsible for supporting the project team on larger construction projects. The role assists a project manager or managers to successfully coordinate a project using the necessary engineering, labor, equipment, materials, tools, and subcontracted services.Position DetailsGenerally, supports a larger construction project; serves as a project resource on smaller projects or supports multiple projects.Keeps management and stakeholders informed on all issues affecting project timeline and budget.Assists with project scheduling, billing and change order paperwork management.Provides interpretation of plans and specifications for the construction project team.In conjunction with the PM and the Construction Engineer estimates the impact of project changes.Assembles submittal packages and other required project documentation.Assists with procurement of equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project related services.Analyzes and resolves basic construction related questions and issues.This position requires onsite work with a variable schedule, including daytime and evening hours as needed to support project activities.QualificationsFour-year degree in related field, or applicable experience.3+ years' experience.Intermediate knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, lighting, controls, generation, and water systems.Ability to read design and construction plans, project submittals, control diagrams, etc.Intermediate ERP skills to include inquiring, reviewing and printing job cost reports.Good project financial acumen.Good verbal and written communication skills.Intermediate computer skills, Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel and Microsoft Projects.Benefits401(k) plan with 50% company match (no cap) and immediate 100% vestingMedical, dental, and vision insurance (100% paid for employee)Annual bonus program based upon performance, achievement, and company profitabilityTerm life, AD&D insurance, and voluntary life insuranceDisability income protection insurancePre-tax flexible spending plans (health and dependent care)Paid parental leavePaid holidays, vacation, and personal timeTraining/professional development opportunities and company-paid memberships for professional associations and licensesWellness benefitsAbout Southland IndustriesAs one of the nation's largest MEP companies, Southland Industries is built on the foundation of great people. For California, this ranges from $93,000.00-$103,000.00 yearly plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.Contingent Employment: All employment offers are contingent upon successful drug tests, background checks, and professional reference checks.
