Now Hiring: Customer Service Representative – Men's Residence

Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering phones, assisting residents, monitoring building activity, and supporting daily operations to help maintain a safe and positive community atmosphere.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Customer Service Representative at the YMCA maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. The CSR responds to residents and to those on the phone.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Serve each resident in a friendly, helpful manner. Resolve problems and concerns in a positive and professional manner
2. May accept rental payments and record on the proper ledger, roster, and receipt
3. Prepare shift-to-shift change procedure
4. Distribute and collect keys from residents as they come and go
5. Disperse the mail into appropriate resident's mail boxes
6. Monitor cameras during the shift to ensure security of the building and residents
7. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work station at all times. Participate in a cleaning schedule with other desk staff so that the work station remains clean and in order
8. Must be knowledgeable in emergency procedures in case of fire or injury and contact the appropriate staff and emergency professionals
9. Participate in orientation and staff development as required
10. Participate in performance evaluations annually or as required
11. Help with other tasks as assigned
12. Effectively answer the telephone system for the YMCA Recreational Branch and direct calls in a courteous and timely fashion to the proper extension
13. Help with other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Excellent communication skills are essential
• Experience working with a diverse population
• Basic computer and phone skills
