Technical Support Specialist

AP Executive Staffing is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company in the Buffalo, NY area to hire a Technical Support Specialist to join their team! This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled professional with experience in HVAC, building automation, controls, or industrial equipment who enjoys troubleshooting, solving complex problems, and providing exceptional customer support. The Technical Support Specialist will work closely with customers, sales teams, and internal departments to troubleshoot equipment issues, provide technical solutions, and support equipment start-up and commissioning. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support to customers, end users, and sales teams, both remotely and on-site. Troubleshoot equipment issues and recommend effective, cost-conscious solutions. Respond to customer technical inquiries and provide timely resolutions. Assist with equipment start-up, commissioning, and field troubleshooting at customer locations. Conduct technical training sessions for customers and regional representatives. Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions to resolve equipment issues. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and internal teams to improve products and processes. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process improvements and cycle-time reductions. Qualifications & Requirements Technical diploma or degree in Electrical, Building Controls, HVAC, or a related technical field preferred. Candidates with 5+ years of HVAC or controls industry experience will also be considered. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with engineering, manufacturing, or distribution operations in an industrial environment. Previous experience in technical support, field service, or a customer service-focused technical role. Strong knowledge of centrifugal pumps, heat exchangers, and building automation controls. Experience with building automation communication protocols, including BACnet and Modbus, required. Experience with Tridium Niagara and wireless networking is a plus. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and conduct root cause analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly to customers. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow assignments through to completion. Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20% of the time for customer support, troubleshooting, and equipment commissioning.
