We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Shipping & Packaging Specialist to join our team. This position combines hands-on warehouse responsibilities with computer-based shipping operations and documentation.

Position Overview

The Shipping & Packaging Specialist is responsible for accurately picking, packaging, documenting, and processing customer orders for shipment and local delivery.

The ideal candidate has strong experience using UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager, is comfortable coordinating LTL freight shipments, and understands the importance of accuracy in a fast-paced distribution environment.

This position requires someone who can work independently, prioritize daily shipping deadlines, and contribute to an efficient and well-organized warehouse operation.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Order Fulfillment

• Pick, verify, package, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to packing slips and customer-specific requirements.
• Verify customer information, purchase order numbers, part numbers, revisions (when applicable), quantities, and shipping instructions before shipment.
• Process daily shipments using UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, LTL freight carriers, and customer-designated shipping accounts.
• Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and supporting shipping documentation.
• Coordinate shipments with freight carriers, including Estes, Saia, TForce Freight, and other transportation providers.
• Prepare export documentation, including Shipper's Letters of Instruction (SLIs), commercial invoices, and related international shipping paperwork.
• Ensure customer orders are accurately processed and shipped within required deadlines.

Warehouse & Packaging Operations

• Safely package products to prevent damage during handling and transportation.
• Palletize, shrink-wrap, label, and prepare freight shipments for carrier pickup.
• Pull, stage, and prepare orders for next-day local deliveries.
• Operate warehouse equipment, including order pickers, stand-up reach trucks, and sit-down forklifts.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, inventory organization, and general warehouse activities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping and packaging area.
• Identify and communicate order discrepancies, product damage, or shipping issues promptly.

Administrative & System Responsibilities

• Accurately enter and maintain shipping information in company systems.
• Verify shipping charges, carrier selections, package dimensions, and weights.
• Maintain organized shipping records and supporting documents.
• Communicate with customer service, purchasing, warehouse staff, and carriers to resolve shipping-related issues.
• Follow established procedures for order accuracy, inventory handling, and shipping documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager.
• Experience processing small-parcel shipments and coordinating LTL freight.
