Senior Web Experience & Organic Growth Lead - Agency

Our growing agency client is looking for someone to own thewebsite as a growth channel: the technical build, the experimentation program that makes pages convert, the organic search foundation that brings people to them, and the emerging work of getting our clients cited inside AI answer engines. We're one of the few agencies selling AI answer share as a measured KPI rather than a talking point, and this person owns it. This is a hands‑on craft role, not a management role. You'll be in WordPress and Shopify, in VWO, in GTM, in Figma, and in Claude. You'll also be in front of clients, presenting audit findings in seven-figure pitches, running QBRs, and defending recommendations to marketing leaders. What you’ll own Build: technical WordPress (custom PHP templates, ACF blocks, staging to production with rollback plans), Shopify PDP and checkout, hand-coded HTML/CSS/JS landing pages, and scaled page programs such as 55+ local city pages on custom templates. Experiment: the full test lifecycle, from hypothesis and variant build through QA, GA4 wiring, statistical rigor and readout. Our largest accounts run two to four tests a month, and some expect a new variant weekly. Measure: GA4 event design, GTM governance at scale (one recent engagement involved auditing 400+ tags and removing 52), Search Console, and reporting automation. Rank: technical SEO including crawls, redirects, canonicals and Core Web Vitals; on-page at volume; schema and entity cleanup; and local SEO across 60+ Google Business Profiles. Get cited: visibility and citation strategy inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and AI Overviews, tracked as a client‑facing KPI. What you bring 5+ years across web development, CRO and SEO, with real depth in at least three rather than one plus exposure Agency or multi-client background; you have juggled four or more accounts and stayed client‑facing WordPress at a technical level, not just as an editor VWO or Optimizely, plus a heatmap or session‑recording tool GA4 and GTM ownership, including cleaning up an inherited mess Technical SEO wins you can walk through with numbers An AI‑native working style.
