Job Description Job Description Contract Senior Accountant Location: Houston, TX Pay Rate: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour Engagement Type: Contract / Interim Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant (Contract) to support a Houston-based organization during a period of increased financial activity. This role will play a key part in monthly close, reconciliation, reporting, and ERP-based accounting functions. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, Excel-savvy, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments with minimal ramp-up time. Key Responsibilities Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities Prepare and review general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Assist with financial statement preparation and internal reporting Maintain and analyze data within ERP systems to ensure accuracy and completeness Develop and utilize advanced Excel models, lookups, pivots, and reconciliations Identify process inefficiencies and recommend accounting improvements Collaborate with FP&A, AP/AR, and operational teams as needed Assist with audit support and documentation when applicable Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a senior-level capacity Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data reconciliation) Hands-on experience working within an ERP system (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar) Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles Ability to step into a contract role and add immediate value Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred Experience (Nice to Have) Prior contract or interim accounting engagements Manufacturing, energy, distribution, healthcare, or professional services exposure Audit background or audit-support experience Why This Opportunity Competitive hourly compensation Exposure to complex accounting environments and systems Opportunity to support high-impact projects and leadership initiatives Strong resume-building experience with a reputable Houston-area organization Pay Details: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour Search managed by: Laura Laminack Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
