As an HR Generalist 2, you will help keep DCS operational and supported by managing Time & Absence, leave administration, retirement processing, and key HR transactions while providing guidance to employees and management. JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the HR Generalist 2 position provides multiple human resources services in support of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS). This position is responsible for daily HR transactions, recruitment, benefits, training, and other human resource functions. The role primarily provides operational HR support in the areas of Time & Absence, leave administration, retirement processing, employment and background verifications, employee data changes, View email address on click.appcast.io support, and other related HR functions in coordination with our established HR processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: The HR Generalist 2 will work in a collaborative environment to provide comprehensive Time & Absence and related HR support, with duties including but not limited to:

• Time & Absence Management: Troubleshoot Time & Absence issues in View email address on click.appcast.io, make appropriate adjustments to employee time calendars receiving Overtime payouts for Special Details, and monitor absence calendars.
• Leave Audits & Verifications: Process leave audits and prepare Leave Verifications as needed.
• Leave Administration: Process Donated Leave requests including solicitations, authorizations, and timesheets, and process restoration of previous unpaid leave and forfeited leave.
• Retirement Certification: Process Certification of Final Forfeited Leave balances to the Employees' Retirement System (ERS) for retirements.
• Helpdesk Resolution: Resolve internal MOJO Helpdesk tickets and submit/resolve SAO HelpDesk tickets relating to Time & Absence.
• Operational Support: Complete daily tasks in View email address on click.appcast.io to assist DCS staff, review View email address on click.appcast.io Job Aids, and provide data and information as requested to DCS employees. Provide backup support on the Military Leave process in View email address on click.appcast.io.
• Verification & Compliance: Process employment (financial) and background verification requests. Retrieve requested HR data for OPS investigations, Legal, or Open Records requests.
• Team Collaboration: Assist managers in updating and approving Absence Management time and absence calendars, and assist staff with special projects requesting employee data.
• Employee Relations & Performance Support: Guide HR policies, assist management with performance management processes, address employee inquiries, and help resolve workplace concerns.
• HR Transactions & Personnel Records: Process HR actions (hires, promotions, transfers, separations) in View email address on click.appcast.io, maintain personnel records, and ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of human resources experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level HR Generalist 1 (HRP010) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will be eligible for consideration. Applicants meeting four (4) or more preferred qualifications will be extended an interview.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
• At least three (3) years experience working in a State of Georgia HR environment
• At least two (2) years of experience administering State of Georgia HR policies, civil service rules, and retirement systems (such as ERS).
• At least two (2) years of hands-on experience using Human Capital Management systems such as PeopleSoft HCM or Workday, specifically in Time & Absence and Absence Management modules.
• At least two (2) years experience working in the areas of, FMLA, LWOP, Workers' Compensation, and leave administration.
• At least three (3) years demonstrated experience performing leave audits or managing complex calculations for organizations with 100+ employees.
• Proven track record of resolving a high volume of internal helpdesk tickets (e.g., MOJO, SAO) monthly while maintaining high customer satisfaction ratings and handling sensitive data with confidentiality.

This is not an entry-level position. Intermediate to advanced level human resources experience is required.
