Details Work in the Neuro-Stroke ASC unit of a hospital, a 38-bed pod-layout department Patient ratio of 3-5:1, maximum 5:1 Primary diagnoses include stroke and spine surgery patients Medication administration includes heparin Utilizes Epic EMR Free charge nurse staffing model with pod layout RN is not responsible for reading telemetry Night shift schedule, 18:45-07:15 36 hours per week over 3 shifts, 12 hours per day Every other weekend rotation required Requirements Active RN license (KY or Compact) required Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required Epic EMR experience required Skilled in IV insertion, blood draws, PCA management, trach care, and central line care Additional Information Provide direct patient care including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for stroke and spine surgery patients Deliver patient and family education throughout the care continuum and at discharge Function as a mentor/preceptor and delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient and family needs Participate in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives Comply with regulatory standards and organizational practice governance model American Traveler Job ID P-746041.
