Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant at Eye-Deal Vision Clinic, you will:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, which include taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and developing comprehensive diagnostic evaluations.
• Order, interpret, and act on laboratory results and imaging tests to inform treatment decisions.
• Collaborate closely with supervising physicians in the creation and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
• Perform various procedures within your scope of practice, such as suturing, wound care, and catheter placements, under appropriate supervision.
• Document patient encounters accurately in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to maintain detailed patient histories and treatment outcomes.
• Educate patients about disease prevention strategies, potential treatment pathways, and post-operative care, ensuring they have a full understanding of their health.
• Engage in daily rounds, contribute to interdisciplinary case discussions, and partake in quality improvement initiatives that enhance clinic performance.
• Continuously maintain and update your licensure and board certification while participating in relevant professional development opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic serves a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric age groups, many of whom present with complex vision care needs. You will have the chance to work with individuals requiring routine eye exams as well as patients facing significant ocular conditions that necessitate surgical intervention. Your contributions will directly impact patient outcomes, enhancing their quality of life through improved vision and overall health.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• A current and valid Physician Assistant license in the state of New Jersey.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• DEA registration with prescriptive authority in New Jersey.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital, urgent care, or specialty setting is strongly preferred.
• Excellent clinical decision-making skills and ability to perform various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably Epic, to ensure seamless documentation and patient management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
• The flexibility to adjust working hours and cover varying shifts, including weekends and evenings as required.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is required, candidates with specialized training in ophthalmology or previous experience in a surgical center will be given preference. Familiarity with multifaceted patient management and surgical practices will be an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package includes a competitive salary in the range of $115,000.00 - $135,000 annually, complemented by additional benefits such as:
