Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with 2+ years of experience and a PA or Compact RN license for a rotating shift assignment.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Rotating day (3x12, 7:00-19:30) and night (3x12, 19:00-7:30) shifts, typically alternating every 3 weeks within a 6-week schedule
• Required to work every other weekend
• Float required based on unit needs
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care
• Experience managing respiratory support equipment such as BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and nasal cannula
• Experience with heparin protocols and cardiac drip management
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration
• Completion of lab work within 72 hours of signing contract

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
• Support patient populations including cardiovascular, orthopedic, neurological, and renal cases
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Scrub color requirement: navy blue or white
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates with prior permanent or per diem employment at the health system must have been separated for at least 18 months before applying as a traveler
• PA fingerprinting and Childline clearance must be completed promptly upon contract signing to avoid credentialing delays
