Medical Technologist

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Generalist is responsible for performing laboratory tests, maintaining quality control procedures, and communicating effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients.

Position Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field required.
• Certification: Board eligible by NCA or ASCP; must complete board certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) via ASCP or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) via NCA within one year of employment.
• Experience: One to three (1–3) years of related or progressively responsible experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology, or completion of a formal student internship.
• Core Competencies: * Proficiency with clinical laboratory instrumentation. * Experience as a laboratory generalist. * Ability to work independently and provide direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants.

Travel & Housing Logistics

• Housing: Shared units only; private housing is not provided. Pets are strictly prohibited.
• Travel Reimbursement: Airfare is paid initially by the candidate and/or agency and will be reimbursed upon arrival.
• Flight Itinerary Submission: Flight details must be submitted at least one (1) week in advance to ensure scheduling for New Employee Orientation and housing placement.
• Orientation Schedule: New Employee Orientation occurs on Tuesdays and Wednesdays ONLY .
• Transportation Note: Pickup service is not provided for returning travelers.
