Microbiologist

Variable 8 hour shifts, days, evenings, or nights.

Guaranteed hours: 32. Holiday coverage required.

Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of related experience in microbiology.

Certification at MT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by the National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment.

Experience with clinical laboratory instrumentation.

Ability to work independently and provide direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants.

Board-eligible by NCA or ASCP and must complete board certification within one year of employment.

Perform laboratory tests and quality control procedures.

Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients.

Maintain laboratory instrumentation and adhere to safety protocols.

Assist in training and mentoring laboratory staff.

All housing will be shared units. Airfare is initially paid by the candidate and will be reimbursed upon arrival. Immunization requirements include: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, T-Dap, and Polio. Background checks and drug screens are required prior to employment.
