Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Hematology Oncology – Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Day/Night or Night shifts available; staffing ratio goal of 1:4 (maximum 1:5); weekend coverage variable based on unit needs; no blocked scheduling

Highlights:

• 36-bed Med/Surg Oncology unit specializing in hematology oncology and adolescent/young adult (AYA) patient populations
• Diverse patient diagnoses including lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other hematologic conditions
• Telemetry monitoring on unit with interpretation of dysrhythmias; interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, and therapy services
• Chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, management of oncologic emergencies (tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome), insulin and heparin drips
• EPIC electronic medical record system; orientation of 72 hours provided
• Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed; ONS certification preferred with additional compensation incentive

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care Med/Surg experience required (must be actively working in specialty within the last 12 months)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ONS (Oncology Nursing Certification) preferred
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Strong skills in telemetry interpretation, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line care, and feeding tube management
• Experience with ports, chemotherapy administration, and isolation precautions strongly preferred
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Must complete urgent fingerprinting process upon contract signing
