HR Generalist

Description Performs administrative support and technical assistance in the delivery of human resources services to employees and managers. Position will be assigned to multiple functional service areas including human resources information systems, compensation, recruitment, leave administration, and benefits administration. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted advisor to employees and management and helps drive a positive workplace culture. Requirements PC usage is frequent, and an employee must possess considerable knowledge and experience in the application/operation of software programs that go beyond basic word processing. Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area which may include any combination of the following tasks: Assist employees with benefit questions, qualifying life events, and enrollment. Maintain change report to log all requests include pending items and completion status. Utilize Human Resources Information System (HRIS) for personnel changes such as position, pay rate, leave status, department and supervisor assignments. Provide support for unemployment claims, including timely response to all claim notifications with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). Process employment verification requests. Manage the end-to-end process of employee leaves under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), ADA, and company policies. Assist with and administer various aspects of employee selection, interviews, and hiring. Facilitate onboarding processes for new hires and exit procedures for departing employees, including exit surveys. Complete ISO audits including annual background checks and quarterly badge reviews. Maintain RN license updates in HRIS. Respond to employees with HR related inquiries. Assist with Wellness plan Participate in special HR projects and initiatives as assigned. Required corporate office onsite availability, Monday through Friday. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred and two or more years of HR experience with a focus on generalist duties. Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS: Office Machines & Technology: Operates some or all of the following office machines/equipment: PC/printer application software, Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Paylocity experience a plus. Scope, Complexity and Judgment Uses judgment and initiative in selecting the most effective work methods/tools and determining a proper course of action or how best to produce a desired outcome/result. Answers to problems may not always be readily available or apparent, requiring searching out precedent or historical practice. Where work is accomplished through PC operation, projects involve the application of advanced program functionality requiring in-depth understanding of technical capabilities and practical methodologies. Delegates and prioritizes work. Communication / Interpersonal Skills Must be able to work well and respectfully with peers, supervisors, and serve clients in a professional manner. Ability to listen adequately and receive information accurately while maintaining a positive attitude to accomplish job performance is required. Position may require ability to work under time-deadline pressure at times.
