Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to understand the cognitive and emotional challenges our patients face, considering their medical histories and current conditions. Design and execute personalized integrated treatment plans that address both psychiatric and medical issues, ensuring a holistic approach to care. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based techniques tailored to the unique needs of each patient, promoting personal growth and resilience. Collaborate closely with medical providers to ensure comprehensive treatment that integrates mental health and physical well-being. Deliver crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, using your expertise to stabilize situations and provide immediate care. Educate patients on the interplay between mental and physical health, equipping them with the resources to manage their conditions effectively. Maintain precise and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring the protection of patient privacy. Engage actively in weekly team meetings and case conferences to ensure continuity of care and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Stay informed about current research and best practices in integrated mental health care to continuously enhance your professional capabilities. Patient Population / Client Focus Our primary focus is on individuals with complex and co-occurring medical and mental health issues. This may include patients suffering from chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, and substance use challenges. Our ideal mental health counselor is passionate about supporting these individuals, helping them navigate their mental health journey, and fostering resilience. Qualifications A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required. Current and valid licensure as an LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R, Licensed Psychoanalyst, Psychologist, or LMFT in the state of New York. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for establishing rapport with patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to maintain professional boundaries, adhere to ethical guidelines, and safeguard patient confidentiality at all times. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and relevant computer applications. A collaborative spirit with a commitment to working effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Preferred Experience Previous experience addressing mental health needs in individuals with co-occurring medical conditions is highly desirable. Knowledge of best practices in integrated care and familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Compensation and Benefits The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
