Project Manager - Austin, Tolling

Overview The Project Manager will plan, organize, budget, supervise, and direct the daily operations of the project’s team. This position is responsible for successfully engaging with the client and managing project deliverables, including the scope of work as defined by the contract, as well as all support functions, associated people and teams, the financial responsibilities of the project team, and the equipment, materials, and supplies used in meeting contract obligations. There is a strong focus on customer relationship management, financial acumen and contract management in this position. Responsibilities Responsible for the entire client relationship as it pertains to the project. Identify and engage with key stakeholders, understanding the dynamics and relationships within the client organisation. Monitor client satisfaction and address any concerns promptly. Cultivate long‑term relationships with clients and stay informed about the client’s evolving needs and industry trends. Act as the primary contact for client communication, providing regular updates on project status, risks and opportunities. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, subcontractors and vendors including senior levels, ensuring effective communication and follow‑up. Lead and develop comprehensive project development plans including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation. Oversee and ensure the execution of projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and contractual requirements. Oversee and ensure end‑to‑end delivery, maintenance and closing out. Ensure appropriate change controls in place and are followed. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing construction and IT projects. Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team including engineers and technical specialists. Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing within the team. Oversee the negotiation, administration, and management of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure compliance with contract terms, including deliverables, milestones, and payment schedules. Monitor project progress, ensuring accuracy in reporting and forecasting. Adhere to budgetary constraints and resource allocation. Provide accurate and timely project financial reporting. Establish and enforce budget controls, escalating significant concerns promptly. Deliver Project-based P&L. Plan, develop, and implement operating budget(s) and monitor costs for adherence. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions/liquidated damages and proactively address issues. Ensure the appropriate handling and response of internal and external complaints to a mutually beneficial resolution. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar required. Graduate degree preferred, but not required. Minimum 5 years in a highly complex project manager role. Government, Tolling or other highly regulated industry experience preferred. PMP Certification desired. Skills Senior level customer relationship management. Strong proficiency in project management. Strong financial acumen. Negotiation skills. Effective communication skills (including presentation) working with and through all levels of an organization. Hands‑on problem solver. Strong aptitude to guide and mentor team members working on‑site and in the field. Analytical and keen eye for detail. Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to operational excellence.
