Focuses on employee onboarding, handling all aspects of employee benefits, employee records maintenance, and payroll.

Hours:

20–25 hours per week; onsite a minimum of two (2) days per week; days to be determined.

Firm’s Managing Partners.

Job Summary

Provide administrative and HR support in a professional law firm environment. You will onboard new employees via ADP’s Work Force Now, assist with all aspects of employee benefits, learn and maintain the firm’s employee records system. You will also assist with employee payroll through ADP’s Work Force Now. With appropriate guidance from within and outside the firm, you will ensure compliance with relevant local, state and federal employment laws.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support various HR functions: employee records, onboarding paperwork, and file maintenance.
• Responsible for all aspects of managing employee benefits, including open enrollment, for benefits such as medical, commuter, HSA, and 401(k).
• Act as a point of contact for employee HR and benefits inquiries.
• Ensure confidentiality of employee inquiries and communications with firm’s Managing Partners.
• Prepare and maintain various HR and benefits documentation and databases using Excel, Microsoft Office, and ADP’s Work Force Now.
• Handle employee inquiries and confidential information.
• Performing administrative duties, such as employee payroll through ADP’s Work Force Now and maintaining employee files.
• Conduct employee exit interviews.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior HR experience must include a minimum of 1-2 years of HR experience in a law firm. Prior payroll experience preferred, but not required.
• Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of law firm operations and structure, including at least a general understanding of the typical job responsibilities of firm partners, associates, paralegals and staff.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and ADP’s Work Force Now. Technical proficiency in Work Force Now is required.
• Other: Flexibility, and willingness to learn and maintain existing firm procedures, is critical. Attention to detail, follow through, and professional discretion also important, especially when handling sensitive employee files or legal documentation.
