Responsibilities Assisting the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit Ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team Coordinating merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork Maintaining freshness standards throughout the department, following proper receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation of a complete variety of items Leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience Assisting in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Produce team Unloading and sorting through store deliveries, operating, and maintaining produce equipment Executing all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ensuring other Produce team members are aware of and follow these procedures Qualifications At least 18 years of age with basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures Dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including night, weekends, and holidays Outgoing and friendly with a positive attitude and ability to interact with customers Good communication skills and ability to take direction and participate in a team environment Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.) Adhere to all safety, health, Weights and Measures regulations, including COOL, and achieve/maintain a Food Handlers permit Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift, stack, and maneuver heavy objects up to 50 lbs., between 4” and 72”, at distances up to 3 feet, and perform these tasks for 10‑50 hours without mechanical assistance Ability to use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 20 feet, requiring a force of up to 85 pounds, for up to 5 hours Pay Range The pay range for this position is $17.65 - $26.45 per hour. Pay is based on applicable experience and qualifications.
