Location: Mizzou Pharmacy Cinnamon Hill Lane

Store hours: Monday Friday 8am 5pm (shift will be within these days/times)

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $16.68 - $26.31/hour, based on experience

o CERTIFIED $19.15 - $30.23/hour, based on experience

Sign-On Bonus: $1,500

Mizzou Pharmacy - Cinnamon Hill Lane provides state-of-the-art pharmacy services specializing in home delivery services, central fill, and specialty drug services. In this rewarding role, you'll be improving the lives of our patients by ensuring the safe handling and accuracy of medication orders and packages. The pharmacy technician is responsible for data entry, preparing and distributing pharmaceuticals, maintaining pharmacy records, packaging and shipping medications and operating/monitoring pharmacy automated technology systems. The pharmacy technician works under the direct supervision of pharmacists to ensure delivery of high quality patient focused pharmacy service.

Detailed Job Description

Prepare, dispense, and distribute medications.

Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and other pharmacy employees.

Provide on-the-job training to new personnel and assist in evaluating the progress of new employees.

Receive prescriptions, complete data entry of prescription orders in the pharmacy dispensing software, and adjudicate third-party insurance claims.

Prepare and label prescriptions consistent with state and federal labeling guidelines.

Conduct point-of-sale transactions that require proper cash handling, offer patient counseling, and comply with all out-window procedures for patient safety.

Answer telephones and handle calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist.

Deliver quality customer service in all interactions with patients.

May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

Required Qualifications

Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.

Physical Demands

This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. This role may also routinely come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
