Key Responsibilities\n

• Provide in-home and outpatient therapy sessions that are individualized to meet the unique needs of each child and family.

• Design and implement therapeutic interventions that focus on improving coping mechanisms, social skills, and emotional regulation, particularly in addressing anger management and high-risk behaviors like self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions that encourage peer support and the development of social skills among youths.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to create a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, contributing to the overall care plan.

• Document all therapeutic interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely manner, adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to review cases, share insights, and submit recommendations for enhanced service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be working with children aged 3-20 who experience developmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as their families. You will work closely with caregivers to enhance their decision-making skills and provide support strategies for managing behavioral challenges in the home environment. By building trusting relationships, you will help empower families to navigate their unique circumstances, fostering a stronger, healthier family dynamic.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related fields is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential for this role.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours from 4 to 7 PM, with some flexibility on weekends preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle are necessary for in-home therapy sessions.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support and implementing behavior intervention plans.

• Prior work with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is a distinct advantage.

• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly desired, as it allows for more effective communication with a broader segment of our community.

Compensation and Benefits\n
