ASL Interpreter

$35-$38/ HourThe Educational Sign Language Interpreter is a trained professional who facilities communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and others within an educational setting. Often, American Sign Language (ASL) is used to interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, which ensures students have accommodations to classroom instruction, activities and learning discussions.Minimum Requirements:Proficiency in American Sign LanguageAssociates degree or Bachelors degree in interpreting, deaf studies or related field, preferredState Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable)Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification ( as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)Complies with all relevant professional standards of practiceCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsMust be at least 18 years of agePlease note that this pay range represents a good faith estimate of the compensation that will be offered for this position based on the circumstances.
