CNC MACHINIST - LATHE

CNC Lathe Machinist

The CNC Lathe Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain CNC turning equipment to produce precision-machined parts according to engineering specifications and production schedules. The ideal candidate has strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working in a manufacturing environment focused on quality and efficiency.

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines for production runs and prototype work

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions

• Select, install, and adjust tooling, inserts, fixtures, and machine offsets

• Perform machine programming edits at the control as needed

• Monitor machine performance and inspect parts to ensure dimensional accuracy

• Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and indicators

• Troubleshoot machining issues and make process adjustments to maintain quality standards

• Maintain proper documentation for production, quality, and maintenance records

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

• Collaborate with management, quality, and production teams to improve processes and reduce downtime

• Perform other duties as required in support of machine uptime and production throughput

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required

• Technical training or machinist certification preferred

• 2+ years of CNC lathe machining experience preferred

• Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes and live tooling

• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T

• Strong understanding of machining speeds, feeds, tooling, and materials

• Experience with tight tolerance machining

• Ability to use precision measuring equipment accurately
