Meat Manager

Oversees the Meat Department, supervising staff, ensuring quality products, and achieving sales and profit goals while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Hire, train, and supervise meat department staff.

Plan, schedule, and direct daily cutting, wrapping, and merchandising activities.

Order, receive, and inspect meat products for quality and accuracy.

Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and OSHA regulations.

Maintain accurate records, reports, and department paperwork.

Meet or exceed sales, margin, and labor goals.

Perform cutting, trimming, wrapping, and grinding duties as needed.

Qualifications

Previous supervisory experience in meat cutting or foodservice required.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Knowledge of meat cutting, merchandising, and food safety standards.

Ability to manage budgets, scheduling, and inventory.

Physical Requirements

Stand/walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).

Lift/move up to 60 lbs regularly.

Work in refrigerated environments.

Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.

Scheduling Expectations

Varied schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Success Indicators (KPIs)

Sales and profit goals achieved.

Labor costs maintained within budget.

Food safety and sanitation audit scores.

Customer service feedback.
