Make a meaningful daily impact supporting students as a Paraprofessional in a dynamic school setting near Oakland, CA. In this rewarding contract opportunity, you’ll work alongside educators to help learners reach their fullest potential—whether it’s providing classroom support, assisting with instructional activities, or encouraging students’ social and academic growth.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Experience working or volunteering with children or youth in educational settings
- Understanding of classroom procedures and the needs of diverse learners
- Effective communication, patience, and adaptability in a school environment
- Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with teachers and staff
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some positions may prefer additional coursework or certification
- Basic technology skills for supporting students’ assignments and communication
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized or small-group academic support under teacher guidance
- Assist with classroom management and help create a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere
- Support students with physical, emotional, or behavioral needs as needed
- Prepare learning materials and assist with record-keeping tasks
- Foster independence in students by encouraging active participation and engagement
- Help with supervision during transitions, lunches, recess, or field trips
