Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client, a global investment firm, is seeking a temp to possible perm Accounts Payable Specialist for a role within its Finance department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Position Details
- Position Type: Long term temporary contract with potential for permanent conversion
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM – Fully onsite
- Location: Midtown West
Key Responsibilities
- Review, code, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with vendor setup, payment processing, wire transfers, and check payments.
- Prepare and record intercompany transfers, bank deposits, and manual journal entries.
- Support foreign exchange-related invoice processing.
- Research and resolve vendor discrepancies and payment inquiries.
- Prepare invoice and payment documentation for audits and internal reporting.
- Process employee expense reports and reimbursements.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external business partners.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Finance team.
- Assist with additional projects and accounting-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Approximately 2–5 years of relevant accounts payable or accounting experience.
- Experience with SAP or similar general ledger systems is a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data management.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines, prioritize workload, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive mindset with strong follow-through and problem-solving abilities.
