Manages clinical activities, priorities, and problems, pharmacist staffing and workloads. Provides status report to pharmacy management effectively communicating issues, concerns, and suggestions as appropriate. Manages and develops clinical initiatives and determines therapeutic alternatives when drug shortages are identified and communicates with medical staff leadership and key stakeholders. Assists with budget preparation and daily financial activity specifically in relation to high cost drugs. Assists the Director and Assistant Vice President of Pharmacy with meeting administrative goals and objectives. IDS experience needed.

Required:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree - Bachelor of Science degree PharmD from ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
• Experience: 2 years of experience required or equivalent pharmacy residency experience
• English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Licenses and Certifications (BLS): Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required by start date
• Eligible for licensure by Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Upon Hire
• Texas license with TSBP within 30 days of date of hire

Job duties include:

• Performing job responsibilities in accordance with organizational and departmental policies and procedures, performance improvement objectives and environmental/infection control standards.
• Coordinating staff development, training, competencies, certification, and continued education.
• Actively promoting pharmacy.
• Actively managing P&T initiatives.
• Consistently working and problem solving independently and effectively.
• Managing/mentoring clinical staff pharmacists and supportive personnel.
• Performing computer order entry in an accurate, thorough and timely manner.
• Actively enhancing personal growth and development.
• Adhering to all policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, and corporate compliance.
• Supporting teamwork and cooperation with co-workers in daily activities.
