Century Group

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Controller to lead our client's finance and accounting operations. You will oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and drive key initiatives in cost accounting and contracts management. This onsite role requires strong leadership to manage accounting teams and systems while ensuring excellent financial controls and the accuracy of financial data. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $150,000 to $170,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including tax filings.
Lead the annual external audit process, liaising with auditors and preparing necessary documentation.
Prepare management reports for executives, providing insights into key financial metrics, trends, and risks.
Develop and manage the company's annual budget, working closely with department heads to monitor performance against targets.
Lead the forecasting process, providing updated financial projections and variance analysis.
Oversee all aspects of banking relationships and capital investments.
Oversee the financial aspects of all contracts, including compliance, pricing, and terms to ensure profitability and risk management.
Collaborate with sales and operations teams to review, negotiate, and finalize customer and vendor contracts.

Requirements:

Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance.
Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor and develop accounting teams.
Proficient in financial systems and accounting software (ERP system experience is a plus).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Deep understanding of cost accounting principles and contract management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a growth-oriented mindset.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably within the foodservice, manufacturing, or school services sector.
Prior experience in a Controller or Senior Accounting role, managing accounting teams.
