Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 or 48 hours per week. 12-16 weekend shifts per contract with flexible scheduling options. Contract lengths accepted through February 7, 2026.

Highlights:

• Specialized neurosurgical and neurological patient population with diverse case mix
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Epic electronic medical record system with Pyxis medication management
• Comprehensive two-shift unit orientation following hospital-based orientation
• Extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 36-bed unit with daily census of 36 patients serving adult population

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Experience with telemetry, IV management, cerebrovascular accident care, and isolation precautions
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Willingness to float within facility as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Additional Information:

• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters
• Pre-approved time off up to 7 days (excluding holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• No additional time off requests allowed after contract signing
• Navy scrubs required
• Online pre-start modules (approximately 8-10 hours) must be completed prior to start date
