Sr. Accountant

Job Description My client is a non-profit organization looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Washington, DC. The ideal person selected for the Senior Accountant position will be responsible for assisting the accounting department in completing the financial duties for the organization. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the assisting with the month-end close process, posting various journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts and schedules, assisting with the annual audit, and ensuring the non-profit organization maintains compliance with accounting standards. Daily responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include: Complete the month-end close. Assist with the annual single audit. General ledger maintenance. Reconcile accounts and financial statements. Prepare, manage and review budgets. The ideal Senior Accountant we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration: 2+ years of non-profit accounting experience. CPA or pursuing CPA license, a plus. Experienced with Microsoft excel. Communicate effectively to leadership.
