Registered Nurse RN Operations Support Specialist

Position Summary RN Operations Support Specialist (ROSS) supports nurse leadership, facilitates onboarding, and enhances quality and safety across PCU, Med/Surg, ICU, and Outpatient Observation units at Banner UMC South. This role focuses on education, career development, and effective internal communication to promote staff retention and patient outcomes. Responsibilities Plan, develop, and execute education programs for clinicians. Coordinate onboarding and orientation for newly hired registered nurses. Collaborate with Clinical Education to precept, mentor, and support new staff. Collect and analyze quality and safety data to identify improvement opportunities. Serve as liaison between disciplines, communicating, educating, and problem‑solving. Assist in resolving system issues and enforce facility/unit/department policies, procedures, and standards of care. Support quality, risk management, and safety initiatives and promote clinical career development. Core Functions Perform standard assignments within own job functions and expand knowledge of fundamental theories, practices, procedures, and concepts. Identify and solve a range of problems in straightforward situations, analyze possible solutions, and assess each using established procedures. Respond to non‑standard requests from internal and/or external customers; investigate with assistance from others, as needed. Make decisions within guidelines and policies that impact own priorities and allocation of time to meet deadlines. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in healthcare or related field. Valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/compact license). BLS certification (required). Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and submit an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
