Job Overview A law firm seeks a Patent Associate in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of patent prosecution experience, patent bar membership, and a background in fields such as physics, engineering, or related disciplines. Duties Conduct patent prosecution and counseling. Collaborate with clients on patent strategies. Draft and file patent applications. Analyze technical documents and prior art. Requirements 1-2 years of patent prosecution experience. Patent bar membership. Background in physics, engineering, or related fields. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Superior academic credentials. Education B.S./B.A. in a relevant field; advanced degrees preferred. Certifications Patent bar membership. Skills Knowledge in AI/ML, solid state physics, or quantum computing preferred. Experience with semiconductors and optics is advantageous.
