Plant Accountant

ESC is hiring a Plant Accountant to manage our client’s manufacturing accounting and plant-level financial operations onsite at their Antioch, CA, production facility. This role aligns with Staff Accountant and Senior Accountant positions in manufacturing environments and focuses on cost accounting, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and operational financial analysis. Compensation for this position ranges from $85,000 to $110,000 per year, with an annual bonus, and is based on experience, education, and skills. Plant Culture and Work Environment This Plant Accountant (Manufacturing Accountant) role is part of a 55-employee manufacturing plant with a single cost center and a defined production process. The structure provides: Direct connection between production activity and financial results Streamlined cost accounting processes compared to complex or multi-site operations Structured manufacturing operation with a predictable daily and monthly rhythm Close-knit workforce with strong engagement across departments Regular interaction with plant management and corporate finance partners Emphasis on teamwork, accountability, and clear communication Active participation in production meetings and routine plant walkthroughs Environment that values accuracy, organization, and follow-through What You’ll Do as a Plant Accountant Assist with inventory accuracy, including quarterly physical inventories, audit cadence, and variance resolution Help with monthly closing, plant financial statements, and standardized financial reporting in accordance with corporate timelines Prepare budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating plan submissions Maintain standard costs, cost accounting processes, and bills of materials (BOMs) Manage compliance with SOX internal controls and maintain audit readiness Participate in production meetings and conduct regular plant walkthroughs Partner with plant management on manufacturing finance and cost management Provide day-to-day oversight of the plant accounting clerk and plant planner Cooperate with corporate finance on reporting accuracy and control compliance Support with HR functions as needed What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance A minimum of 2 years of accounting or finance experience Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory controls, and month-end close Working knowledge of GAAP principles Experience with SOX-aligned or internal control environments Detail-oriented, organized, and process-focused work style Comfortable managing plant accounting duties with minimal supervision Strong ability to meet deadlines while working as a team #J-18808-Ljbffr Educated Solutions Corp
