RN - PACU

Registered Nurse - PACU / Preop

This position is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift: Days with some call on nights and weekends. The work week is around 40 hours, with on-call coverage required.

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with prior experience in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will work 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios, primarily serving adult patients. Responsibilities will include caring for patients post-surgery, maintaining patient safety, and providing quality care in both PACU and Preop settings.

• Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Administer medications and manage IV fluids as necessary.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and other medical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and recovery.
• Maintain clear and accurate patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Current RN license in New Mexico.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• Prior PACU experience is a must; experience in Preop is preferred.
