This position is for a registered nurse specializing in the post-anesthesia care unit. The role involves providing care to patients recovering from anesthesia. The facility has a 47-bed acute care capacity and employs around 300 healthcare professionals. Patient ratios in the unit are typically 1 to 1 or 1 to 2. The patient population is primarily adult, with specific treatments such as appendectomies and gallbladder surgeries. The position will require on-call coverage, with a 30-minute response time once notified of a case. Staff members will share responsibilities between the PACU and preoperative care but are not expected to float to other areas. Ideal candidates will possess prior experience in both preoperative and PACU settings. The dress code includes appropriate scrubs, with restrictions on open-toed shoes and fake fingernails. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for success in this role.
