HVAC Technician - Gulf Breeze Hospital - 1st Shift

The HVAC Technician performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to the facilities engineering and maintenance departments. This is a 1st Shift 8am to 4:30pm M-F schedule. Responsibilities include: updating work statuses and documenting tasks completed in the CMMS using a mobile device, helping settle staff, material needs, and timelines for jobs and projects, cleaning, lubricating, servicing, repairing, and diagnosing malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, food service equipment, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and similar plant and specialty equipment items, assisting in making decisions on all repairs and reporting major problems to the Manager as appropriate, constructing, finishing, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power & hand tools and other vital equipment, reviewing outside vendor projects and making punch lists, analyzing and correcting sophisticated building system problems and electro/mechanical problems related to utilities, supporting project management activity as needed, responding to emergency problems in the facility and making emergency repairs as needed, maintaining logs, performing rounds, and completing P.M. work orders, tests, and inspections, making recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems, maintaining shops and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance subject area, HVAC certification or license highly preferred, experience working with blueprints and schematics, a general understanding of electro-mechanical equipment, rudimentary ability to apply hand-operated construction equipment, and ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds and kneel/bend/stoop and perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time.
