Position Summary

The Patient Responsibility Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for individuals and stakeholders throughout the funding process when out-of-pocket expenses or financial responsibility apply. This role provides guidance on coverage, benefits, and payment responsibilities while delivering a high level of customer service via phone, email, and text communication.

The ideal candidate has experience reviewing benefits information, explaining complex details in a clear and customer-friendly manner, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position also collaborates closely with internal teams to improve processes, support departmental goals, and ensure a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate benefit coverage and financial responsibility information to customers.
• Answer questions related to coverage, funding status, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Analyze and interpret benefit and eligibility information.
• Provide recommendations and solutions based on available coverage options.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and account activity.
• Respond promptly to inquiries received by phone, email, text, chat, and other communication channels.
• Utilize CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and internal databases to manage customer information.
• Track and maintain department metrics related to productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements.
• Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to team goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of customer-facing experience in a healthcare, benefits, insurance, or related environment.
• Experience working with insurance coverage, benefits, or reimbursement processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with data entry, account management, or customer support systems.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Compensation & Schedule

• $58,000-$65,000 annually
• Monday through Friday
• Flexible start time beginning at 8:00 AM
• Hybrid work arrangement available following initial training period
