HVAC TechnicianSalary Range $37.54 - $42.24 Hourly Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Category Facilities/MaintenanceUnder direct supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, the HVAC Technician performs the overall repairs of the Casino and related facilities heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, in accordance with management directives. Meeting all performance standards leads to attracting and retaining a qualified workforce, provides opportunities for qualified team members, and contributes towards the ongoing success of the Pueblo of Sandia today and in the future.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder direct supervision, installs new HVAC equipment, performs routine repairs and maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems including any air distribution machinery, pneumatic and digital control, hot and chilled water distribution, and variable air volume systems.Complies with Pueblo, Resort & Casino, and Facilities Department standard operating procedures.Under an emergency evacuation and fire, evacuates the building or voluntarily assists the Security Department in emergency evacuation procedures.Utilizes a high lift for maintenance tasks when required.Reports equipment repair requirements to supervisor.Performs preventative maintenance, adjustments, and basic repairs on HVAC systems.Performs seasonal overhauls and transitions of systems to and from heating/cooling.Coordinates major component replacement and evaluation of complex system problems.Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes workplace safety.Responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of heating, ventilation and air condition small repair inventory.Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate tools and testing equipment.Troubleshoots and repairs electric controls, motor control panels and programmable logic controls.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.Responsibility Assist Supervisor's in maintaining inventory control of equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.Participates in Facilities Safety program and is responsible to complete all safety training and promote a safe work environment for team members and guests.Works in a composite crew and is required to assist Hard Maintenance, Electrical, Plumbing, Kitchen Repair technicians and/or other trades in accomplishing their duties on a routine basis.Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.Additional ResponsibilitiesStrong interpersonal skills with all direct work associates as well as networking with all Team Members is essential throughout Pueblo of Sandia whether they hold public facing and/or back-of-the-house positions.All Team Members must:Be polite, friendly and professional always.Demonstrate an approachable demeanor when working with all co-workers and Team Members throughout the company.Reflect a kind, empathetic, patient, and respectful behavior with all internal and external business dealings.Support co-workers as needed to meet business demands.Build professional work relationships with all Team Members while supporting a strong teamwork environment.Maintain a friendly, professional and approachable demeanor in the performance of all duties.Performs all job-related duties that have been assigned.Key Performance IndicatorsThis position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) identified as a measurement of success. KPI's will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI's as part of the performance review process.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to work with others.Ability to operate manual and power tools used in the performance of HVAC maintenance work.Ability to prepare maintenance reports.Knowledge of general safety rules, requirements, procedures and reporting requirements necessary to maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good public and employee relations.Ability to perform preventative maintenance according to published guidelines.Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.Working knowledge of electrical.Knowledge of HVAC installations, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.Ability to work with high lift.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceRequired: High School Diploma or GED certification.Four (4) years of HVAC or Refrigeration experience.Any combination of trade school and/or experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required experience.License/Certifications/RegistrationsMust possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver's License.The following certification is required prior to employment start date:Universal Refrigerant CertificationJR: Journeyman refrigerationJSM: Journeyman sheet metal preferredJP: Journeyman plumber preferredBO1/BO2: boiler operation (low or high pressure)JG: Journeyman gas fitters preferred.Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsThe following selected physical activities are required to perform the essential functions of this positionBalancing - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
