This individual will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the accounting function supporting month-end close, accounts payable, and general ledger activities while building a strong foundation across finance operations in a fast-moving, early-stage biotech. Strong candidates will be detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn, with a willingness to take ownership of routine processes and improve them over time.Key Responsibilities:Support full-cycle month-end close, including journal entry preparation, accruals, account reconciliations, and flux analysisAssist with recording payroll and lease-related entriesProcess accounts payable, including reviewing and coding invoices, to help ensure timely, accurate vendor paymentsFacilitate vendor onboarding and contract and purchase-request intake, routing documents into our contract management systemAssist with year-end audit support, including responding to external auditor requestsSupport employee expense and T&E processingMaintain well-organized, audit-ready records and documentationIdentify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processesQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field1–3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience a plusWorking knowledge of core accounting principles (US GAAP)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)Comfort with accounting systems and tools; experience with NetSuite is a plusStrong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skillsAbility to handle routine work reliably while navigating occasional nuance and ambiguityGood written and verbal communication skillsEagerness to learn and grow in a supportive start-up environmentPreferred Qualifications (Plus):Progress toward CPA licensure (parts passed)Public accounting experienceExperience in biotech, pharma, or another early-stage/start-up environmentNetSuite experienceExperience with AI tools (i.e. Claude in Excel)Exposure to AP automation, T&E platforms, forecasting platforms, or contract management systemsExpected Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there is sometimes flexibility on job level and responsibilities.
