Position Information Job ID: 17903 Position Type: Certified Student & Teacher Support / Teacher - Student Success Advisor Location: Gilbert High Date Posted: 6/18/2026 Start Date: 7/20/2026 Closing Date: 8/18/2026 Contract Duration: 10 months (Exempt) Grade: Teacher Annual Rate: $54,335 and up depending on experience Full Time Equivalency: 1.0 FTE Fingerprint Clearance Card: Must have a Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to processing Purpose Statement The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive academic support through monitoring student performance, facilitating communication between stakeholders, implementing targeted interventions, and organizing programs to ensure student success and engagement. Essential Functions Communication & Support Online Students Onboard and register all online students Communicate between teachers, students, parents, and counselors for full‑time and part‑time online students Contact parents of students who are struggling or unengaged (especially Tier 2 and Tier 3 students) Facilitate communication of strategies with online teachers Send reminders and newsletters to parents, students, and teachers Monitor student academic progress Monitor attendance weekly reports and set up meetings for audit letters Identify and refer students to Canyon Valley Track grades and meet with academically struggling students Monitor attendance and conduct audits (focus on 14‑day absences) Monitor Tier 2 and Tier 3 student groups with regular check‑ins and meetings Help students build academic success systems (time management, study skills, organization, etc.) Intervention System Follow the Tier System of Intervention Use academic intervention forms via the HUB Focus on skill acquisition and peer tutoring as interventions Address underlying issues such as academic apathy and social‑emotional factors Setup peer tutoring schedule (work with NHS, Key Club, etc.) Create and update a Tier 3 list of students Schedule regular student meetings, tutoring sessions, and Tier 3 meetings Coordinate with teachers and make phone calls to support online teachers Other Functions Assist other personnel to support them in completing their work activities Job Requirements Mental Requirements Learning Development – Level E: Knowledge in a recognized professional field sufficient to command principles, facts, and practical applications Problem Solving – Level 2: Ability to analyze and choose effective responses to workplace situations Physical Requirements Physical Skill – Level A: Basic level of learned physical skill sufficient for normal mobility and use of everyday objects Physical Effort – Level 1: Minimal effort; primarily sitting with occasional walking and light lifting Social Requirements Human Relations Skill – Level B: Patience, clear verbal skills, ability to establish harmonious relationships Scope of Contacts – Level 1: Primary contacts with peers and immediate supervisor; occasional external contact Work Environment Performance Environment – Level A: Low variation in work pressure and schedule Physical Working Conditions – Level 1: Generally good working conditions with minimal hazards Accountability Level of Accountability – Level B; responsible for independent work output subject to supervisory direction Organizational Impact – Level 3; decisions impact internal systems and services Experience, Education, and Certifications Experience: No experience required Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; continuing professional development specific to job requirements Certifications/Clearances: Valid Arizona Standard Professional Teacher Certificate; must possess a valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card while employed Compensation Details FLSA Status: Exempt Pay Schedule: Teacher Work Calendar: Teacher Non-Discrimination Statement Gilbert Unified School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, sex (including pregnancy and related conditions), gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, age (over 40), parental status, or disability in admission to its programs, services, or activities, in access to them, in treatment of individuals, or in any aspect of its operations.
