Target Compensation: 70k-80k

A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its finance and HR team. The Payroll Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist

• Process payroll for approximately 500 employees on a regular schedule
• Ensure accuracy of payroll data including hours, deductions, and benefits
• Maintain and manage payroll records within Paylocity
• Review payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Handle employee payroll inquiries and provide timely support
• Assist with payroll-related reporting and audits
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate employee data
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information
• Support process improvements and efficiencies as a proactive Payroll Specialist

Preferred Qualifications of the Payroll Specialist

• 3+ years of experience as a Payroll Specialist, ideally within a nonprofit environment
• Must have experience with Paylocity
• Experience processing payroll for mid-sized organizations (hundreds of employees preferred)
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, compliance, and reporting
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities as a Payroll Specialist
