Medical Records Clerk
Griffin Hospital
Job TitleMaintains medical record integrity through filing, assembling, and retrieving confidential patient records, processes admissions, maintains master patient index, makes folders for new patient records, performs audits.Ensures an accurate and complete medical record by scanning paper medical record documents into EHR. Performs qualitative and quantitative review of scanned images to assure accuracy and legibility.Assigns patient charts for approved external reviews through electronic health record review routines.Maintains Master patient Index by performing daily review and merge of duplicate numbersMaintains paper files by tracking, retrieving or purging patient files.Adherence to HIPAA, federal and state guidelines regarding the protection of patient health information.Provides assistance to patients calling or presenting to department for records requests/needs.Supports all areas of Medical Records Functions.Education: High schoolExperience: Six months office experience required. Medical office experience strongly preferred.
