Among the notable recognitions, the city received gold certification as a Community for all Ages and was designated a Walk Friendly Community and Bicycle Friendly Community.The Procurement Officer II, under the supervision of the Procurement and Contract Services Manager, collaborates with City departments to efficiently process solicitations for commodities and services. Facilitates contract administration; monitors and resolves issues with contract compliance in accordance with City’s Procurement policies and procedures.

Salary range: $51,042-$65,337 annually

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.

• Three years of experience in public procurement.

• NIGP CPPB (Certified Professional Public Buyer) or CPP (Certified Procurement Professional) certification

* Equivalent combination of education and procurement experience may be considered.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of procurement principles, practices and methods; negotiation; problem solving; effective communications; contracts; specification writing; and bid evaluation skills.

• Preferred knowledge of municipal government operations including applicable State, Federal and local laws, regulations and ordinances; processes and procedures; and understanding of insurance provisions.

• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public.

• Ability to organize data in the form of a chart/graph/table and present the data to assist internal departments in.
